Well that would be true but unfortunately my knock sensor has a wiring issue with the clip right on the sensor itself.... Now you just made me think because the issue was intermittent and would throw bogus knock codes, so maybe I will be able to listen to be before without that issue completely disa...

Interesting. I'm not sure if it's possible for me to get a hand on the sensor while it's installed however. I'll have to try breaking some bones and seeing if I can get at it.

Thanks for the links, I'll look into it.

Unfortunately its not possible to get the location of the stock sensor on the 300zx vg30dett engine when its installed in the car. Here is a picture of the locations I chose. The stock location is down that black hole you see between the cylinder banks. Once the engine is installed the transmission ...

Made a knock sensor using this method, however I am not too sure of how reliable it is. I sealed off the clips as best as I could with a glue gun, but I am still not sure if I am hearing the engine well. I clipped one clip on to each head/block mating surface at the rear most cylinders (v6), so that...

Alright, tuned it up best I could and it seems to be pretty good for a rough test. I unplugged the 02's and made all effected cells 0's, then played with the K value until it was easier to tune the low end. 155 seemed to be a better fit than my previous 144. I then began adding and subtracting from ...

No knock at 16psi at any point, even without timing pulled. 16psi is minimum for me (zero on EBC, aka wastegate settings). so what your saying is I make the map all 0's, then tweak the K value and latency until I have 14.7 afr for all conditions up to when boost transition starts I assume? Then I tw...

I turned all the blue boxes to zero (which are the only ones which the o2's effect I believe). I dont understand why I would make them all zero's as right now the top end is around 70 and thats about 11.5 AFR. Why would making the whole table zero's make sense? what am I missing here? By the way, I ...

This is what concerns me, because I have done what you just suggested, and its nearly 20 AFR with the O2's unplugged at low RPMs. My stock injectors are 370cc, my new ones are 740cc (double). The original K is 288, so I cut it to 144. If i want to get the afr's correct at low RPM's I need to adjust ...

Ok so I'll pull back the timing on the last 4 rows or so. As for the bad injector settings, what do you mean? I changed the K constant to half the original for the injectors being twice the flow. I have not completed the task of clearing the O2 controlled area and disabling the o2's as I really don'...

latency? as in the K constant? The K has been adjusted for the injectors being twice as large. As for disabling the 02's and clearing the lower end of the fuel map, I have not done this as the car runs well low end and I was not sure exactly how to complete that procedure. I have not played with the...

How am I doing?

Hey guys, I'm learning how to tweak with tuning to get correct AFR's but I am not sure if I'm headed in the right direction. I'm going to post up my latest datalog and the corresponding .bin file to view it with. If anyone has a moment to look at it and tell me what they think it would be greatly ap...

Before I answer you questions.. Find the Nistune tuning guide and read it. Adjusting your K constant is just the first step in changing injectors. The second is to turn off o2 sensor feed back and fine tune the K constant until you get ~14.7:1. Then you turn o2 sensor feedback back on. 3. First che...

another q (4) obviously my load scales are still off too, as they top out at 44, and on the log they are reaching around 55. This obviously needs to be adjusted, however this will only further lean it out if I am not mistaken. so what is my next step? should I toy with the K constant until I see the...

Checkup time!

Alright, well everything is running great in nistune now, and I'm becoming more comfortable with the program. I'm now stepping into tuning and need help! Let me first say I have a type 2 board on my 1991 300zx twin turbo. I currently have the redline set for 7000rpm. The first thing I did was set th...
