Re: ECU's
OK, so....as to the differences, the NIStune dealer I use, believes that there are none that affect the function of usng NIStune, because all maps are placed via NIStune and use of daughterboard. That is what led me to the post initially, makes sense that I could use an NA ecu, but part of me likes ...
ECU's
Matt:
...my car is a 93' 300zx twin turbo. Need new ECU, bad #6. Was talking to my NIStune shop and he thought I could use an NA ECU because of the type 2 board and NIStune software.
Is this true? Can I use an NA ecu in my twin turbo?
thanks

Re: simple question, long story....any help or thoughts..?
OK, so I understand. First I am going to try to correct my original ecu, hope all goes well. I now understand there are differences enough between ecu's from different countries....my only real concern is could I have done any damage to any sensors or any paert outside of the ecu by connecting the j...

Re: simple question, long story....any help or thoughts..?
UPDATE: I have purchased my transistor pack. I think I am going to trace pin 114 to the #6 injector and replace that pack with the new one. I then will be using my original ecu, put daughterboard back-in. check how she runs..??...see if transistor was the problem....if not sending to my NIStune shop...

Re: simple question, long story....any help or thoughts..?
thanks for the input....I'll post the outcome.... I do have some questions about the install, I think 1 pin bent (broke off when attempted to straighten), my guy can correct (has pins etc from work).....I will also now have 2 ecu's and 4 chips, thinking of getting another Nistune daughterbaord, to c...

simple question, long story....any help or thoughts..?
I installed NIStune couple years ago Transfered the tune I had purchased, finally got to a tuner....since I have done some mods...basically I have changed injector connectors, having some issues. I have done this before, NIStune functioned fine....changed to top feed EV14 style injectors....ran on 5...

Re: E85 tunes... Type II board Twinturbo ZX
man is this co-incidence..???? I am presently changing over to a top feed fuel rail....have Walbro pump and Fuelab regulator... the fisrt dyno on the NIStune showed that I had some production problems..therefore going to top feed...(tired of the side feed injectors)... hopefully will have it tuned b...

Re: Base tune 300zxtt
I had dyno'd the Z and was good HP and torque but running pig rich. I purchased the LC-1 and will attach it to my test pipe. I have talked to a guy in tennessee who is a qualified NIStune tuner...after my brakes are done I am going down ther and get the Z tuned to the max...but safe. I think the NIS...
I agree
I just want to get this first tune done, so I am not so pig rich....then I will start the purchasing of all required parts and upgrade...move the O2 to the test pipe....would like 500-550 hp, more with race fuel, but stock fuel or mix would be steady/fun/and long lasting....
way to high
OK, you like physics more than I...all I know is the LC-1 has a good rep..I know that placement in the exhaust stream could be influential...Specialty Z, has their bung on the test pipe and I just received a response that they prefer the test pipe...probably ok if at the end of the downpipe... don't...
