Re: S14 KA24DE-T Idle woes

It ended up being the idle screw needed to come out 2 turns. The jumping up and down in MAF voltage was from one of the other idle valves turning on and off. After some more air gets in, it slows down the decel so much that this no longer happens :)

WOOHOO!

Re: S14 KA24DE-T Idle woes

No, we did the Nistune over a year ago, and ever since its been like this. Really the only mods made were converting to blow-thru MAF and swapping the injectors to 370ccs, and the tuning for boost. As far as i can tell, the MAF isnt getting any reversion according to logs after letting off boost.

S14 KA24DE-T Idle woes

First off, let me apologize for not having a log file to show here. Apparently I lost it somehow, probably didnt save it, customer already gone. Basically, I am having an issue with the MAF/TP oscillating at idle. With electrical load (headlights/fan on), if I load the power steering then let go, it...

this feature already exists. if you go to 100% throttle (WOT) during cranking, it will cut fuel, thats the usual in most EFI cars, its called flood clear mode.

CA18DET ECU mixup!!!

So I'm troubleshooting a car that someone else had installed Nistune on. Ecu part number sticker says 23710-36F05, which is MEC-D016. The side of the ecu (housing) also says MEC-D016. The reason I was concerned was because a 39F00 image was on the board and that didnt match the sticker. Upon opening...

It will work. You will just need to have it re-flashed with the new code base for the ECU you want to run, along with another 28 pin socket to install it.

Thank you very much for all you are doing Matt! Ok, every time I have programmed the board (like 4 times now) it completes the program, store, and verification fine. I also doubt its a problem with the board, but is there any other way to test it and be sure? A buddy of mine bought a Type 2, so I'll...

Alright, I've got my customer leaving his car with me, as we were still unable to get it working. We reflashed the Nistune board with the 26P00 image, and both LED's in the ecu stay on and the car wont start. The factory chip still works when put back in the socket. Ive checked all solder connection...

Appreciate it. When you say that you updated the file, its included with the ROM pack download or what? If not how can I get the new file.

Im having the same issue with a KA-T setup (no BOV) and sometimes it dies. We are using a blowthru MAF setup, so im not sure if thats got anything to do with it... I see the AFR's go pretty lean when it happens, still looking into the issue. We checked the MAF and injector time, and I didnt see any ...

Just curious, anybody know if the microseconds value is very accurate? On one Megasquirt setup I did we set the latency value by observing the oscilloscope waveform and calculating the time by the inductive current bumps in the voltage. This would really take out some of the guesswork. :)

US Z31 bin

Just tried doing an install on an 86 Z31 VG30ET last night to no avail, wont start. Back to stock for now until I get this figured out.., According to the JWT list, i see that it is a 19P08 code base. I don't see this one in the ROM pack, and couldnt find much upon searching here or google... Any ch...

Thanks for clearing that up... We ended up using a 95 Altima auto ECU with it and a pin swap has us up and running very well! One thing I noticed with the Altima while tuning, is the AFR table shows double the actual value, ie 29.4 instead of 14.7. I tuned it with raw values and everything is fine, ...

USDM KA24DE S14

Hey there, I've heard from Matt that this will work. According to the JWT list it's a 72F03 bin (should work with 72F00 right???) Anyways, I found somewhere that Calum had tested the jumpers and found the same R025 to R022 will switch to external ROM. Same as 95 S14 KA24DE Just wanted to make sure t...
