Re: First time making adjustments...looking for a little help

Im not sure the 3-4 inches is enough. I think for Z32 maf it could cause problems, but i cant say for your maf. Perhaps someone else can help u with this... As long as the timing gun shows the same number as consult, base ignition timing is OK :) Oh and just put like 0.5bar (7-8psi) in it and you sh...

Re: First time making adjustments...looking for a little help

LC1 is not too far after the turbo in the down pipe. OK thats a good place, no chance of sucking in fresh air at the tailpipe. should the MAF be the inlet side of the turbo or should it be before the TB after the turbo? Im not familiar with this engine / maf, but normally a MAF is before the turbo,...

Re: First time making adjustments...looking for a little help

Before starting to tune, make sure the following things are ok: - ignition base timing - Camshaft timing - No air leaks in intake system - Fuelpressure Then start out with a base map for your engine, perhaps with modified injectors or AFM (use nistune for this, and you might want to adjust injector ...

Is it not possible to insert some kind of attenuator in the piezo signal?

Perhaps a resistive divider or capacitive coupling?

Re: N62 (z32 mafs) issues

Could very well be a bad connection inside the afm connector. I had one which gave me inconsistent afr's mostly at idle. In the end I just soldered the wires directly to the afm, and it has been rock steady ever since. Perhaps you can try to jiggle the connector when idling, if rpm or afr suddenly c...

Ive tried 770ms for 2 days now, and its a big improvement! :)
Ill just leave it there for now.

Re: Running without closed loop

Oscillation is normal. Overshoot is a bit high but that could be due to lambda age (older and dirty means less responsive). I usually see afrs ranging from 14.1 - 15.1 when oscillating

Re: RNN14 444cc latency

yes i have. The RNN14 ROM shows a raw number of 0x4D. If i apply that number to my ca18det rom, i get a latency of 770ms. But im not sure if i can just transfer the number between the 2 roms.

RNN14 444cc latency

Can anyone confirm that gti-r 444 injectors have a latency of 770ms?

I now have a ca18det with 444's set at 550ms. Its running lean on idle/light load, like 16afr. Suppose it could make a big difference.

Re: RPM Scaling

So you have tried running it? And it doesnt work?

If so, its probably the interpolation algorithm in the ecu that screws things up...

Re: does the sr20 ecu go into closed loop at idle?

sr20det does open loop in idle! Just like a ca18.

see manual EC20: Open loop control

Rounding error. Wouldnt worry too much about it

if you want to minimize the error, go up first and then back down again. So best to do MAF first.

Re: Closed loop at idle

it would make more sense to do closed loop at idle, i agree.

But i suppose if you get nice afr's at open loop idle you wont get any problems with emission testing. Mine currently stays fixed at 15afr idle.

Re: Closed loop at idle

In my experience with a CA18DET, idle will not stay in closed loop. When revving and returning back to idle my AFR logs first show an oscillating mixture and then slowly (after 5 seconds or so) the oscillation stops. I can use the fuelmap to adjust the idle mixture, so it would definitely indicate i...
