Re: Matts side projects

That power figure from a GT3071r on only 15psi in the top range is absolutely incredible, most people are making that on the 76mm with more boost. I don't think I've seen the 71r make more than 270kw before. How does this dyno's figures compare to others? I realise at the end of the day it is just a...

Re: How to get external data into NIStune?

Yeah, that'll be the big difference between RB20 and RB26 systems - RB26 has inlet air temp sensor. Might be worth scrounging a 26 loom and ECU for this reason. PL So with the 26 ecu it is possible to have ignition/fuel correction based on inlet air temperature? Assuming this is the type 2 r32 gtr ...

Sequential Injection?

Do these boards use sequential injection at any time, or are they batch fire? If so does anyone know the details of how the injectors fire?

Just curious.

Thanks.

Re: Rich + More Ignition, Or Lean + Less Ignition?

Very interesting stuff, I heard about them basically jamming the wastegate shut and running unlimited boost with the injectors basically wide open in F1 back in the day. Sounded very 'hack' like heh.

Re: Using R32 ecu to tune R33

Have to use random gain numbers and some trial and error, doesn't use the boost pressure as feedback.

Do you know of any controllers that do out of curiosity?

Re: Using R32 ecu to tune R33

How do you find the eBoost street for boost control? Any good? PL Yeah seems very configurable, you can set it up to bring boost on slightly faster than with no bleed valve via it essentially unplugging the boost line until x psi is hit, usually half whatever boost you are aiming to run. Also has l...

Re: so, heres a novel idea!!!

This is a long shot but I have heard of people doing this before, get a laptop set up with everything you need (internet included), hire a dyno with all the things you need eg AFR that can be plugged into the laptop and logged on the screen and then set up remote desktop. Sit in the car with skype o...

Re: Using R32 ecu to tune R33

Most people use some form of electronic boost control, if you haven't already bought one and need one then buy an eboost street, they come with a window controller built in, just wire it up to a relay and plug the RPM wire into it, it will then switch the relay on at x rpm and switch it off at y jus...

Re: How to get external data into NIStune?

So with eg an r32 rb20det ecu there would be no way to get intake air temperature ignition correction? Someone over on SAU suggested perhaps using the coolant temp sender as an intake air temp sender, but then you'd lose all your cold start corrections etc, probably causing more issues than having i...

Re: How to get external data into NIStune?

Is it possible to use this data as a tuning instrument, eg set up an intake air temp vs ignition trim table? Or are there no extra maps that can be utilised for this?

All timing pulled at cold start, only sees 5degrees timing.

Car: R32 + neo rb25det, rb20 loom and ecu with nistune, r33 intake and r32 sensors, z32, gtr injectors When I start my car first thing it runs great and normally for about 1 minute. After a minute no matter what revs/load/gear you are doing it will suddenly pull all timing, looking at ecutalk it dro...

Throttle seems to not work for ~1 second after a gear change

I am running an R32 rb20det ECU + nistune in my R32 + r34 neo rb25det, z32, gtr injectors. I have all R33 intake gear on the motor and R34 coils and the loom etc is all rb20. Everything runs great apart from this odd issue, I used to have an r33 rb25det in the car but have since switched to an r34 n...

Rich + More Ignition, Or Lean + Less Ignition?

So I see mainly jap cars where they tune 10:1 and run loads of ignition, but here in Aus people tend to run more like 12:1 with less ignition timing. What is the safer way to tune an RB motor? If you have high temps due to a small turbo running at its limits, would the more fuel + more ignition be t...
