On the DE I found the peak power was always in an area where the VTC was still on, so really I didn't gain much by having it turn back off. Ideal possibly would have been an adjustable cam sprocket set somewhere in the middle, which may have given a little bit more peak power slightly higher up. Tha...

Wow - those AFR's are really surprising. I've usually had best power by leaning them out. The last DE I did ran 13:1 and loved it! I found that the DET's just love timing to make power, but don't respond as much to AFR changes (until you get below 11:1 and then they really drop off). But DE's seem ...

many years ago when I was running an S14 SR20DE engine with an S13 loom and ECU and an RB20 turbo I did a few tests for the optimum VTC changeover points. I had the solenoid connected to a manual switch, and after overlaying dyno runs with it on and off the ideal turn off point was 6300rpm from memo...
