Re: Improved air intake - problems with enrichment!
bachig24u: That charged air tube -picture is old. The second picture shows updated version... it still is pretty close but It will have to do for now. I will turn the compressor housing just a littlebit when I take the turbo out. I changed the 300zx filter and it did nothing. Then I rised fuel press...

Re: Improved air intake - problems with enrichment!
Yes, that is what I'm planning to do next. I have the gauge and adjustable pressure regulator. But the first thing is to install 300zx filter. I already cut out the fuel pump filter to ensure it is not the problem.

Re: Improved air intake - problems with enrichment!
So you are saying I'm having too small injectors? Well I kind of knew this answer coming... but how come increasing duty cycle does not enrich my mixture? In my opinion with 69% should still have plenty of margin for enriching the mixture. I'm having the exact same situation with 69% vs. 85% duty cy...

Improved air intake - problems with enrichment!
Hello, I'm having problems trying to enrich my fuel map. My setup: Engine: CA18DET Chassis: S13 Injectors: GT-R 444CC, measured and matched Fuel pump: Walbro 255lph Turbo: GT2871R MAF: Z32 Exhaust: XS-performance manifold/outlet + magnaflow 3" cat and 3" cat-back Intake: everything changed...

Re: Ignition timing issue
Nice, maybe I'll make that mod aswell. I had pretty bad clutch slips a while back because my timing jumps suddenly about 4 degrees. Boost is now set to 1.0bar with RE85 and I didn't have any slipping during track day. However I had some problems with blown boost piping... Fixed it and we'll see how ...

Re: Datalogging 10 bit stream
How is this going? Here is some of my electronic hobby projects:
http://malmi.ahjo.cou.fi/
I hope you want to generate some simple communication protocol for DIY persons regardless wich microcontroller they want to use. It would be perfect for more complete data acquistion with Nissan engines.

Re: Datalogging 10 bit stream
Nice, it's always a good thing to have a way to attach external sensors to your datalogging system. I think after this improvement Nistune has everything you need. Right now I'm hoping for 6 sensors or more, but I think it's very easy to add as many as you want if you get really in to it. Also nice ...

Re: Datalogging 10 bit stream
Let's pump this one up. This is how I was planning to make the MAP measurements to log files. The only problem is how do I interface with nistune software as auxillary sensing device? AVR would be nice microcontroller for this purpose because it has 10bit ADC built in and it happens to be able to po...

Re: Ignition timing issue
Well not 100% but 99% because while tuning to 98 octane it did not have any knocking. And that is for full gas only, I think it needs more tuning at center top area of the map. I'm planning to just put pretty small advances on that area to be safe. Also, now with ethanol gas knocking is not detectab...

Re: Ignition timing issue
Everything in nistune remained the same. Map vs consult is still 5deg off. I noticed knocking on very late advances. Problem was wrong setting of cas, about 2,5deg in cas/cam --> 5deg on crank. Checked idle timing with lamp and it was 20deg :O

Re: Ignition timing issue
Okay, ignition is now tuned for 98 octane and then I advanced 3 degrees more and then some RE85 to the tank. With 200km behind, it seems to work pretty nice. Not perfect but nice (AFR). I was having pretyy coarse detonation because CAS was jumped somehow 5 degrees in more advance after installing ni...

Re: Datalogging 10 bit stream
I think arduino uno is the simplest way to go. It has everything one would need in a case like this. Of course arduino mega is also compatible but might be an overkill. Any of them will do if it has HW serial interface.

Re: Datalogging 10 bit stream
How is this going? Could someone tell me what I need to output from arduino to nistune? What Baud rate and in what kind of format? I have used the Dallas DS1820 temperature sensors in the past, now I ordered some freescale pressure sensors to view MAP signal in logs. I'm currently lacking informatio...

Re: Ignition timing issue
Yep, 20 degs actual would be around there, but I'll adjust it some more at weekend with knock phones. Right now I want to stay in safe area and not risk anything. That's why I dont want to put 25 degrees on the map, if actual timing goes to 25 somehow, I'll probably have knocking and soon a nogood e...
