OK, BOV vented will cause a rich patch on gearchange. But you probably knew that. Otherwise it should be fine. MAKE SURE IT'S NOT OPEN AT CRUISE/IDLE! Ventilated rocker cover to atmosphere should be OK. I'm thinking your problem is the AFM. Your AFM MUST match what you have selected in NIStune or re...

No, you can set the boost map to whatever you want - just be careful of what the boost does.

The problem area with T28 will be 3500 - 4000. Where boost comes on. They'll make 20psi+ if you let them. But as revs rise it will drop off.

The boost map doesn't directly represent the boost level. It would have been because the engine wanted to make max boost at 4800, so the solenoid was closed to lower the boost. Then as revs rise boost tends to drop off so you see the values increasing to try and hold boost. T28 will struggle to hold...

Thanks! :)

Yeah, I think it was around 1.2mm.

But it'll change depending on exactly what turbo and WG actuator you have anyway.

Hi John, Very interesting to hear that you've been able to run these big injectors. Good work! I've done a few SR20 E85 tunes and I think it's a wonderful fuel. The government have now banned it here (Oz). I still don't know the full story as to why. Apparently they heard how much extra power we wer...

S15 boost maps have been used and adjusted on a vehicle. They work well:

S14 boost maps haven't.

I haven't even had a chance to bench test the S14 maps. If anybody else has played with them please let me know.

Hi Ryan, What is the part number of your ECU? Changing just the injectors should be pretty painless. Firstly, have you ONLY fitted the bigger injectors and S14 AFM or were there other things? I always need to ask this cos it’s often other little contributing things that can cause problems – resultin...

I'm not keen on that bend straight out of the AFM but it should be OK. I've had another thought though. You've only changed AFM yes? Standard injectors?? If this is so then your K constant will be very large. So unless the load scales have been adjusted, your ECU will be accessing the load columns o...

You're probably suffering from reversion. Z32 AFM's are noted for it. It's all do do with disturbances in the airflow at low load/idle. And it can cause some very wierd (and varying) symptoms. I've seen it mostly on engine conversions where the AFM is placed too close to the turbo. One car would har...

That is weird. If it's a manual image then it shouldn't be complaining about ATX problems. If it's in limp home mode then Consult comms will not work. Same for all ECU's - limp home mode = no comms. Best to always start with the auto base image to match the auto ECU even if the trans has been change...

Hmmm. I remember having to phone a friend to make the O rings and adaptor collars fit properly but I don't remember having trouble with the connectors (well, once the loom was butchered anyway).

Just another thing to add to the list of why Sards are bad in SR's!

Yes, Sard injectors are ALWAYS the wrong injectors on an SR. I hate them. They were obviously never designed for the SR20. All they've done is take an off-the-shelf injector and made it fit using a half-assed system of adaptor collars and oversized O-rings. Very nasty. And to top it all off they use...

Hey Scott, So the ECU isn't in limp home mode - tick. That's the main reson for not being able to connect. The USB drivers for the consult cable are installed correctly - tick. That's the 2nd main reason. We need to be sure that the data is going from laptop to the ECU - so just check that the green...

I had the same experience with BOV's. In the end I fitted the standard one again - and did the little mod where you block the bleed passage up so it'll hold more boost. My issue was that when taking it easy you really want the BOV to open as soon as you go to change gears. If this is only at relativ...

Nissan solenoid = 32 ohms
MAC valve = 27 ohms

So it'd probably work. Whack a diode (1N4004 or similar) across it to help protect the driver. Cathode (stripe) towards the 12V end.
