Hey Sprout, I'd be interested to see a log from your car once it's tuned. The GT-RS is identical to the 52 trim 2871R that Graeme is running. I've been trying to make a list of what voltage the Z32 AFM will give at what power level. His is giving 4.4V at 215rwkw (DD dyno in Shootout 4F mode) on arou...

Yep, that's what I meant. A very small hole should suffice. Otherwise it'll stuff up your current settings. The other question is whther your turbo is capable of giving you what you want. The only real way to know is to hold the WG shut and see what it'll do. Obviously this is a risky procedure but ...

Hey Chris, I haven't tried the DC display in NIStune yet. I'll give it a go this weekend. Not sure on what the ECU does to the solenoid when not actually driving it to control boost. It could well be held open - meaning that you don't need the bleed hole. It's been awhile since I did my bench testin...

Suddenly Matt's gone from having an old boring R31 RB30E auto to some properly interesting cars! :)

Now we just gotta get them hopping!!

Hi Chris, I kinda lost contact on this thread. For some reason I stopped getting emails telling me that stuff was happening. Great to see that you've been forging ahead though. So putting the solenoid in series is a goer then? Would you care to elaborate on advantages over using the solenoid to blee...

Hey guys, Interesting thread. I recently helped with some tuning on one of these and we had no problems with boost cut. It was running a Z32 AFM, 850cc injectors and TD06 -25G turbo on 18 to 19psi. It made just under 300rwkw in it's final state of tune. About the only weirdness was that it would sho...

I doubt we'll be seeing a "Mobile NIStune" any time soon. Just the amount of data that needs to be displayed would make it rather difficult. What UltraCDL represents is another way to display Consult Data. Mark approached me awhile ago with his PDA based application. He originally wrote it...

I'd be at least putting a heatshield of some sort in there. Remember - you only have to give it a bit for anything more than about 20 seconds and that manifold will be glowing red!

Hey Chris,

This sort of stuff is very difficult to evaluate. Good on ya for having a go though.

Looks like I might be doing some tuning on a local S15 with all std engine hardware soon. So we might have some figures to compare.

Continue the research! :)

I'm coming in a bit late here but check your TTPmax. Theoretically it shouldn't be a problem for you, but the symptoms certainly sound like it is. I got caught by this recently. Doing an S13 SR20DE+T. Couldn't get it rich enough on full boost by adjusting values in fuel maps. Increasing K would work...

This is very interesting. If the sensor is a K type thermocouple then we could use it as an EGT display for tuning. This really would be a very good thing and would add another dimension to our tuning efforts. I've seen these sensors on the factory cats and I've seen the signal line into the ECU man...

I have spoken to other guys who use this as an indication of how close their K constant is to right. Makes sense. Must start using it myself....
