All parameters are not available for all ECU's.

Some have been more thoroughly investigated than others. As more is discovered about each ECU the address files are updated to add this extra functionality.

WB setup is in the NIStune Software Installation and Users Manual but basically: - Hook your wideband into a port on your laptop - Under File, Configuration in NIStune: - select your wideband type and port - select location for wideband lookup tables You'll find the lookup tables under C:\Program Fi...

I saw these things the other day and I gotta say it looks like good stuff. Unfortunately the exchange rate (AUD <> GBP) is so crap at present that buying anything from the UK is pretty much out of the question. The bottom line will be whether their products can distinguish between engine noise and k...

Hi George, Matt is away at present so I'll attempt to help. Your ECU is in limp home mode. Any Nissan ECU will stop consult communication if it goes into limp home. There must be a problem with the installation of the board (I'm assuming you bought the NIStune board with a pre-programmed base image ...

That makes sense. I've never checked where the EGR is active. I'm not surprised that it's not causing a problem as the factory timing tends to be very conservative anyway. The S14 certainly runs better (read more agressive) ign maps than S14a. I just compared 69F00 to 82F08 and the early one has up ...

Nissan seem to tweak their maps from time to time. Often they'll start off with quite good maps and as the model progresses they pull back timing and add fuel. I can only guess that they do this as a response to problems with vehicles detonating due to inferior fuels etc. I live in Australia so ofte...

Hey Chris, I gotta say I'm impressed by the depth you've dug into this boost control subject! But I'm not feeling it on the first gear stuff though. I see it as prettty much irrelevant because: 1) Normally you won't get a lot of boost in first gear because of the minimal load on the engine. 2) Whate...

As Legionnaire said, I think things just happen a bit too fast in first gear for any system to react.

Even if it was mapped to load I suspect it still wouldn't help.

You won't hurt your engine in first gear anyway - there's just not enough load on it.

Normally boost spikes in first are not a problem as the engine isn't loaded up enough to create much boost anyway. Good luck controlling it - if they do make any boost then the ramp rate is so fast that it's almost impossible to catch. I just use a bit of driving technique - go easy on the throttle ...

Hey Chris, That makes sense. A stronger spring will need more pressure to open it, so a bigger jet would be correct. When I did my bench testing I found that the solenoid was fully open by the time I got to "90" in the tables. So anything over that would make no difference. You'd need to d...

Original result (140something rwkw) was on totally standard AUS delivered S15 manual. Standard 480cc injectors, standard exhaust, standard IC.

Hey Chris,

I reckon it might be your 0.8 bar actuator. We were using the same setup on Graeme's S15 and boost was totally controllable. But he has the standard actuator that comes with the 2871 - which I'm assuming is around 0.5 bar.

Yeah, having multiple tunes can be a good thing. I've been doing the 4 map boards for SR20's for years now. They work great but in reality most people can't be stuffed setting up 4 different maps. I'm going to set one up for a local guy so he can run a "flex fuel" system. He's now got big ...

I tested this on the weekend by programming a 39F00 base image into a type 1 board and running it on the bench.

I was able to change load scale values by selecting the required cell (it goes dark blue) in the load scale editing box and using +/- keys to adjust.

No problems this end.

Have you tried changing the load scale values by selecting the load scales in the left menu rather than editing directly in the IGN maps?
