Adjusting SR20DE more smoothly?
Is there a way to adjust the SR20DE highport more smoothly, when driving normally? The car drives perfectly under full load. What bothers me is that: Cold engine: - Idle is very rich (11:1). - Sometimes stalls when I come to a stop or when the clutch pedal is pressed. - Sometimes very lean when acce...

Re: SR20 highport stalls when in gear
Today I finally had time to make a logfile. See the file attached.

SR20 highport stalls when in gear
A friend of my drives in a Nissan Primera with SR20DE highport engine with GT2871R turbocharger and RNN14 EDM ECU There is only one problem we could not solve yet. The engine stalls, but only when warm. (coolant above 70°C). And only when in gear and the clutchpedal is pressed. I tried to modify som...

Re: 71Y0F: cold engine stalls
It is not possible to drive with the car, because of an expired MOT. That is why I am setting things up at idle. I thought, once idle is steady it must be good also while driving. Then I can drive it to a workshop for MOT. When this is done it is legal to drive at the streets. What about the load sc...

Re: 71Y0F: cold engine stalls
Thanks Matt for your reply. I tried what you said today; 1. Started with original ROM 71Y0F 2. Changed to HPX (this increased K constant from 31206 to 58657) 3. Changed injector size from 259cc to 740cc (this lowered K constant from 58657 to 20529) http://i.imgur.com/HlMMCOk.jpg *I didn't select &qu...

Re: Adjusting injector size and MAF table, did I made a mistake?
When cold, the engine stalls and it is hard to let it run idle. After cranking, it immediately runs. Air fuel ratio goes to 11.0 and after 5 seconds it goes to lean: 15, 16, 17... At that moment, if I don't hit gas, the engine will stall. What I did with the original feature pack ROM (71Y0F); - Adju...

Re: Double checking process for altering MAF and injectors for factory vs FP firmware
Thanks Matt, now I understand why, and that I didn't made a mistake but needed to adjust the loadscale. I see you also replied in my topic http://forum.nistune.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3439#p25171 . One more question related to adjusting the load scale. Adjusting K from 40728 to 40727 will resul...

Re: Double checking process for altering MAF and injectors for factory vs FP firmware
...This is how I did it FP1: Move TIM to get fuelling corrected Move K to get load scales corrected To elaborate Move TIM so fueling gets close estimated AFR on medium to high load. To get K close, move K so TP at idle lowers down until it matches the load at first column, 8 for me. Then adjust K u...

71Y0F: cold engine stalls
My car is a Nissan Pulsar N14 GTI with modified highport SR20DE + GT2871R turbo. Because I changed a lot of things and recently bought a HPX N1 MAF, I tried to make a new fresh ECU file. What I did was: 1. Flashed the NIStune board with the newest feature pack: 71Y0F. The ECU partnumber is 71Y05 2. ...

Re: MSD ignition: DTC 21 + timing off scale
Problem solved. It was caused by a bad timing light, which I only used the second time (with MSD).

Re: MSD ignition: DTC 21 + timing off scale
Found the base timing option in NIStune, thanks. I now have tried to set the timing like you/FSM says, in "open loop idle". Again same result. Timing can be adjusted from 0 to 15 degree after top dead centre, which is too late. I read the MSD manual again and found something: The MSD produ...

Re: MSD ignition: DTC 21 + timing off scale
Today I tried to get the timing right, with the MSD ignition on my SR20DE highport + GT2871R. Parts used, all new: - MSD 6A (red box) - MSD Blaster coil - MSD spark plug cables - NGK BCPR7ES spark plugs - OEM distributor cap With warm engine I locked the timing with Nissan Datascan (by the way, why ...

Re: K-constant and injector size
My car is a 100NX GTi with SR20DE and 23710-71Y05 ECU. Original K-constant 32106. I upgraded the engine with a turbo and 740cc injectors. In the fuel map I turned off the O2 sensor and adjusted the K-value, until the widebandsensor and the fuel map were the same. This is how I came up with 28164. I ...

Re: K-constant and injector size
Ok, I understand how the resize work. But not how to get all the tables correct then. By simply changing the K to 28164, won't change all the tables which will be adjusted automatically when I use the resize option. And 28164 is the correct setting for these 740cc injectors. I still don't understand...

K-constant and injector size
I have a question about the K-constant in NIStune. Already searched in the NIStune manual, but can't find an answer. With Nismo 740cc injectors, the multiplier has always bin 28164 for my engine. This seems to be the correct value, because when I look to the fuel map and its real AFR value they are ...
