At

Re: CA18DET Variable Intake Solenoid scale bugs
Ok great. I've found some other small faults where "filtered" and "raw" is confused. I'll post the details of it later.

Re: CA18DET Variable Intake Solenoid scale bugs
That's how it still looks like:
Look at the selected row. In the table it's at 3200 rpm, but in the graph it's at 1651 rpm. The numbers from the graph are where it's actually switching.

Re: CA18DET Variable Intake Solenoid scale bugs
It seems to be still something wrong with that. Now the X-axis is called "load" but it seems to be rpm, but with factor 2 too high. Currently with untouched oem values the soleniod does switch already above approx 1800rpm when there is also load. But that does not make any sense. The syste...

Ignition base timing JDM EDM CA18DET
Hi folks Officially the JDM ECU demands the base ignition timing to be set at 10° and with the EDM ECU it needs to be set at 15°, for whatever reason. I have an EDM CA18DET with an EDM ECU that I have loaded the JDM base image on because I need the butterfly switching option (that actually does work...

Re: Changing the TPS to another type
Well it is hooked up like in the picture. It functions as a voltage divider. TPS.jpg When the tap is in the middle it will see 2,5V, either its a 100k or a 1k pot. It's just the current that would be different. When the tap is 75% left it will always see 3.75V, etc. That's at least what my intermedi...

Re: Changing the TPS to another type
Thx for the answer Matt I also thought there could possibly be a problem when it reaches 5V earlier. And I wasn't sure how the ECU might react to that. But just 5 minutes ago I found the schematics in the workshop manual. There is GND and 5V on the ends of the potentiometers resistor. Voltage gets m...

Changing the TPS to another type
Hello nistuners I have a S13 with the CA18DET I am in the process of fitting a 60mm throttle body. I think it is from a N13 or P11, anyways it does fit perfectly concerning its dimensions and cable linkage. The only thing that is different is the TPS. Now I would like to use that TPS from the 60mm t...

Re: CA18DET JDM / EDM ECU variable intake soleniod question
To complete this:
Changing to the JDM base image did the job The switching is working now.
Thanks for the hint Matt
By the way, the transistor can be taken from the slot T311. That one has no function (output goes to an empty pin) and it is the right part to make it work.

Re: CA18DET JDM / EDM ECU variable intake soleniod question
Yeah I found out. I would need a Nistune Base Image Programmer, or someone that has that programmer and provides that service. Thanks for the infos edit: I just saw that you mentioned the "base image programmer" before . When I read it I didn't get that it is a specific hardware l...

Re: CA18DET JDM / EDM ECU variable intake soleniod question
I have an eprom programmer... can it be done with that? If not, who would be able to do it in Germany?

Re: CA18DET JDM / EDM ECU variable intake soleniod question
Thanks for the quick reply. How do I get the JDM program on my board? Do you mean simply load the JDM image onto it, or would I need to send it in for a kind of a deeper flashing?

CA18DET JDM / EDM ECU variable intake soleniod question
Hello nistuners I have an EDM CA18DET FP ECU. Because I will install the JDM cylinder head with the butterfly intake system soon, I tested if this is ready to work with my EDM ECU. So I hocked up an ohm meter in between pin 8 an ground to see if/when it is switching to ground. This did not work unfo...
