Seeing as i can never feel the spike id be looking at a software issue, as mine spikes to like 6700rpm and also drops right out to 0rpm, obviously if it was a cas issue the engine would stutter or hit rev limit seeing as my limters at like 6000rpm AFAIK i cant repeat it, its random sometimes happens...

umm, how could u use a type 1 board? with a twin cam head.

an rb25det ecu will get you running fine, as a vl/r31 ecu wont run the rb25 CAS

No VL jatco box had speed sensors, they were all drives for the speedo cable, and speedo signal came from the dash.

R31s had an electronic speedo gear and no cable, so id say you have an early r31 4n71b jatco

i havent as yet logged it, as i dont have easy access to a laptop atm. i have also noticed on cold starting that additional timing was being added to the base 15 degrees, TPS idle was on so should be running off the idle timing maps, as temp increased timing would back off to 15 degrees, being cold ...

your rb30+t seems to get on boost very late for a factory t3 and high comp motor.

brett i had this problem the other day, fuel economy has been bad, the 02 sensor showing 1.1-1.2 volts, i had a koen gas analiser on it and AFRs were in the 10s at idle, ended up reloading a base map and the 02 sensor is fine and its going into closed loop, on full load it goes to 1.2v aswell.
