Have you tried the nistune folder in the programs directory where the drivers are originally located?
Or are you saying they don't actually work under 64bit ?

The FTDI drivers are meant to work for 64 bit

Folder you should be browsing inside of is
C:\Program Files\NIStune\Type1_USB_Win2K_XP_Vista_Drivers

There are two subfolders i386 and amd64 (64bit) inside here for driver subfiles

Are you saying Windows7 cant see the drivers when looking in here?

First off sorry for the slow response, Second thing I want to add is that computers are not one of my strong points but I don't regard myself completely useless.

When I manually search for the driver files here-
C:\Program Files\NIStune\Type1_USB_Win2K_XP_Vista_Drivers/amd64

Nothing exists. I did find the driver files here though-
C:\Program Files (x86)\NIStune\Type1_USB_Win2K_XP_Vista_Drivers\amd64

But when selected I get the messege-
Windows was unable to install your NIStune communications device.
windows cannot find driver software for your device.

Should I uninstall and reinstall?

what about just

C:\Program Files (x86)\NIStune\Type1_USB_Win2K_XP_Vista_Drivers

The INF file in the folder is what windows looks in to determine if the VendorID/DeviceID matches that of the Type 1 board plugged into the ECU via your PC
