Afr @ 10.00 on idle rb20ecu rb25det

Post by sky_r33 »

Hi. I installed some deutchwerks 800cc injectors and z32 AFM. I'm running a nistune, I had payed a reputable tuner to send me a base map for the set up.

The specs of the car are:

RB25DET Stock Internals
1.29mm Cometic Metal Head gasket
HKS Blow off Valve
AEM Wide-band
AEM True Boost, Boost Controller
Garrett GT3076R Turbo /.82 exhaust housing
44mm Precision Wastegate
Walboro 255 High Pressure Fuel Pump
Deutchwerks 800cc Injectors
Z32 AFM
modify STD inlet plenum
Splitfire coilpacks
Nismo termosthat
Nismo radiator cap
3 Inch Custom Downpipe and 3 Inc De-Cat Exhaust system
Apex Intercooler
Nistune ECU
ACT 6 Spuck Clutch

The problem is with the provided maps the car is running at 10.00 AFR. on idle and it has no trottlhe response, it idles from 350 to 650 rpm and if I press the trottlhe it will go to 700 rmp when I stop it will shut off. Then if I try to turn the car on again I would have to disconnect the injector fuse, it will idle for normally for 2 or 3 seconds and when I place the fuse again it will start running mega rich and like shit and white smoke.

I check the wiring on the z32 over and over

A...A no wire
B WITH B
C WITH C
D WITH D
E WITH E

also I put back the stock AFM and is the same reading.

Any help would be great.

Well it probably has no response because its running pig rich, I'd imagine.

Did you try loading in a base map, resizing the ecu and maf? Did you zero the map and play with the kconst? Thats how you achieve proper idle.

I'm paying A tuner to do it. But he already send me over 4 maps and none of the had work yet.

LOL at listing the radiator cap

Anyway I'm wondering firstly if you had the ECU installed and tested working before doing all the other modifications. That way we know that you have a working 'baseline' and at what point you were having issues

Was there a particular point where everything was running well until it stopped working?

The main ones which concern getting the ECU tune correct around idle concerns the Z32 MAF and 800CC injectors

We would need to see the tune (email to me so I can check it for you)

The other problem is identifying why it is running so rich, and if your rewired MAF is working correctly (which you dont know if it is right now)

So you need to run Nistune, get a log of the car attempting to idle and check the MAF voltage and see if it fluctuates somewhat

You would then need to pull your injection multiplier back until it doesnt run so rich. Since you have a wideband you can also tell us what AFRs you are currently getting and what injection multiplier should be

Since the tuner is not there he cannot see how the car functions to identify the problem. Since we are not there also we rely on your log files, records of AFRs and the BIN file to try and determine the cause (if solely a tuning issue and not other vehicle problems)

The car was running fine, I tested ECU and there was no porblem.

I change the AFM to the stock one and then made the change on Nistune and it was the same, the AFR at 10.00

but I will try to adjust the latency today and I will let you know tommorrow

Against automatic calculations the injection multiplier looks about right (137 in this tune and 143 from auto calc)

Latency has been adjusted, load limit, min/max adjusted and maps altered

O2 temp should have been put back to normal but not related to this issue

At this stage dare say its your AFM or ECU is running limp mode (you can connect to consult and get a log?)

Hey, Just wondering if you know the latency for the deatschwerks injectors? Because I have a rb20det with a z32 maf and 750cc deatschwerks injectors and your injector latency is at 530(0X35), Im just wondering if this is right for them.

Thanks

This is my base map, is for my RB25DET running 800cc and Z32AFM, I had to adjust the TP voltage trigger and had some minor Timing adjustments.
