Hi All
I have just wired in a Microtech x6 ignitor in my RB20det running a Nistune. I have also just change out my coil packs for Splitfires.
Do I need to do anything with the nistune??
Do I need to change anything in the nistune to use the x6 ignitor and slpitfire coil packs??
Thanks

Does the charge time on the coil packs differ from factory? Dwell tables could potentially need adjusting depending on required charge time @ mapped rpm
Re: Rb20 + x6 ignitor + splitfires
They are the coils suited to the RB20 so I assume they would not differ (I'm hoping). I will try do a search.
Other then that the ignitor should just be wired up one to one with the wires and away she goes!?

Sounds like it!
Re: Rb20 + x6 ignitor + splitfires
That's probably more a question for Microtech. They should be able to tell you if the Nissan factory ECU will drive their igniter.
It's really nothing to do with NIStune apart from the fact that NIStune will allow you to change your dwell time if reqd. Once again, Microtech/Splitfire should be able to advise on dwell time.

Re: Rb20 + x6 ignitor + splitfires
I have wired it all up and all runs fine. As I had the tune done at a Dyno shop I don't have the program to check my settings. I was under the impression that it was the ignitor or coils that I was having this problem. The problem is I am having a flat spot and/or hesitation at about 3000 rpm, I release throttle and step on it again and it drives through it. Clutch in and I free rev no issue.
Any ideas??
Cheers Billy.

Re: Rb20 + x6 ignitor + splitfires
What are the AFRs like around the hesistation?
What about injection time if you were to log RPM, MAF and injection time inside Nistune. What does the inj time look like at the time of hesitation?

Return fuel at a minimal level found to be low voltage to fuel pump. Something so easy it was stupid.
