z31 low impediance injectors on 88 ECU: resistors & wiring

Post by MrShiro »

Hi,

This probably has been covered.

I'm about to install a set of RX7 low impedance injectors (using one of Jason's fuel rails) in my 88 Z31.

I've read that to do this, I need to rewire the injector wiring harness back to the pre-campaign configuration (i.e., each injector end up with its own individual wire coming from the ecu); and add one resistor inline for each of the six injector-ecu wires.

It is my understanding that the ECU only has two injector circuits, and each injector circuit drives 3 injectors by batch firing.

So, my question is to the electrical engineering types on the forum: is there an easier way to do this?

Could the injector wiring be left in the campaign wiring configuration, with just one resistor be installed in each of the lines feeding the juice to the three injectors it is driving.

Or is there something obvious I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for helping out here.

Just looking to save some of time.

Regards
Matt

Resistor should be per injector. In batch multiple injectors triggered current draw of three simultaneously will be higher
