HCR32

Post by DVS JEZ »

few quick questions
1- SOft cut, Hard cut and safety rev limiter, all set at different RPMs in factory base map, Which one does it actually use and if all set at say 7500RPM which one will be used.

2-there is no knock timing map, does this mean that if knock is detected than it will use knock fuel map and richen up the mixture only or does the detonation ignition retard get used?

3- Limit tables, things like fuel cut when is this used?

4-TP limit Load cut, how can this be set, eg, boost at 14psi using load TP 104, does this mean for a boost/saftey cut i can set the TP limit to 120 or similar?

thanks

which address and bin file are you using?
1. hard cut is when soft cut limit used after threshhold reached.
2.The HCR32 11U00 has a knock timing and fuel. on the RB20DET I just double checked.
3. Fuel cut usually used on decel or tps 'on' state.
4. Correct. it will then active a the softcut safety limiter, set it very low and see which tables get used.

Have a closer read of the Nistune software manual, it's like a secondhand shop, everytime you visit there's something new.

If not sure what the ECU is doing, the latest beta software uses GREEN map tracing so you can can see what is being accessed and when. you will notice this by looking down the left hand side bar.

thanks for the reply, its a 04U01 RB20DET,
ok so fuel cut is on decel which makes sense,

i should set soft cut at say 7500 and hard cut at 8000RPM.

now i have some questions in the type 3 forum

2. No knock timing map on earlier HCR32 ECUs (04Uxx)
