I've got a local guy tuning an R33 GTR using an R32 GTR ECU. He's done this before (you just gotta take care of the O2 sensor side of things) with good results.
He's fitted new ID1000 injectors which are high impedance. GTR's run low impedance injectors + dropping resistors from factory. So he's removed the dropping resistors now that high impedance injectors are fitted.
He's having driveability problems. Although he can tune it OK and obtain the desired AFR's it still runs rough and is apparently a pig to drive on the road.
Weird part is that he did one dyno pull where it cleared up and pulled like a train!
So we're both a bit stuck for ideas at this point. Apparently timing figures are all cool. Nothing untoward going on. I'm gonna get him to send me the bin and a log. Just thought I'd ask if any other GTR guys out there have run ID1000 injectors on these ECU's and if so did you have any issues?

as long as the overall impedance matches the original, then the ECU wouldn't mind.
Is the battery voltage stable from idle right through the working rpm range?

Yeah, that's what I said. All of the Nissan ECU's I've checked use the same injector driver chip. But some use low impedance injectors + dropping resistor and others just use high impedance injectors.
I'll ask him about the battery voltage. Or even better get him to send me that log which will show that anyway.

yeah, those logs are absolute gold aren't they... if only they still worked!!! damn that 0.10.x upgrade .. arrrgh
I mentioned the battery because the volt latency delta is so important with large injectors.
the id1000's vary almost 250cc/1v from memory and if you have charge system problems or bad earths & don't notice it, the fuel map is used to compensate. Then the mess gets worse when the alternator or battery is replaced later on.

Hey pete it should tune up fine, we have done a few now on e85 with id1000 's (which would theoretically make it 23% worse) even the id2000's seem to tune up fine.
haapy to have a look @ the map if you want to email it through but im sure your on top of that.

Thanks for that. He did send me his map + log but I haven't had a good look at it yet.
I thought after all the good press that they should tune up pretty sweet.
