Wideband Input Tracer Display Type Question

Post by ttcarguy »

I am trying to tune my 300zx TT using an AEM Wide Band Sensor.

On the Input Tracer, I set the Input Sensor to: LAFR.

I then did a run, boost set to 10 psi.

I now have a trace. I can also view it in various
Display Types: Current, Max, Average

My question is what display type should I use to tune the engine?

At first I thought Current. But now I realize I am not even sure what Current means after the run is complete. Was
this the last recorded current value when it left the cell?

Yes, that's it. The "current value" feature is more useful when you playback the log step by step and look into the wideband input tracer.

Btw, check this:

Thanks. At one point I was thinking average might be the way to go...but after reading your post I won't do that.

So how do you use Nistune to tune your AFR with a Wideband.

Record a run, then playback checking the Wideband Input Tracer cells with the Display Type set to Current...looking for lean conditions?

Should I just set the display type to Max and tune until the Max results hit the desired AFR?

I found out that one can record the Wideband output using Consult Log View (Record Mode). In the pull downs for the Consult Log View select LAFR (and other items you want to log). In 10.4 the Wideband play back doesn't show up, but one can view the .csv logs to see the values.
