discussion around RB26 mods

Post by guricha »

Hi guys,
Have some experience with Nistune but more i do for my car need more additional mods :)
Need some help and will be great if i get support as usually :)

So her is the deal, after rebuild of engine i got to modify ECU with NISTUNE boards and got some problems i cant solve
first problem is i cant get information regarding O2 sensors both of them is not showing any information, but ecu isnot giving any faults as well,

the second deal is with RPM limiter, problem is after i put limiter at 3500 rpm it works unless i will restart the car again, so what is the deal ? what i am doing wrong?

and the third deal with MAF, before fords maff will arrive i need to test with z32, after wiring will be done what operations should be completed in nistune ? just changing the maf in operation panel ?

and final: in idea i want to run 9000 rpm after cam mods and what need to change to see in fuel and ignition map 9000rpm scale ?
thanks in advanced for helping

What are the voltages reported by both O2 sensors? Do you have these selected on the consult registers tickboxes when you first connect?

Not sure with RPM limiter - would need to check on bench. Assuming you are burning in that change?

Yes just resize from BNR32 to Z32 MAF but also use the 'halve' tickbox. Because BNR32 uses two AFMs and they are added together you will find the BNR32 vqamp curves are halve normal size. So any replacement MAFs also needs to be halved.

AFAIK Nissans can map upto 8000rpm in the scalers. I dont think you can map beyond that. If your engine does go beyond that it would be using extrapolated values based on the last rows

Matt, what if i will remove both Lambda s, do they are still important for Nistune? or for proper working of engine ?

O2 sensors only used in closed loop. Nistune does not care about then (we only display what ECU is doing and allow you to change stuff)

You can disable O2 feedback and run without them if you wish

Disable the O2 sensor feedback under 'feedback flags' or increase O2 sensor coolant temp to maximum

People on here have run upto 1400cc but the main issue is not tuning with them, its trying to get a good idle. Because they flow so high the amount of opening time around the lower end needs to be quite small and this becomes difficult to control. Is this being used for an E85 application?
