Want to say thanks

Post by lanerjo »

I would like to say thank you to Matt and all the others who have put in the time and effort to get Nistune going as well as it is... You guys have done a wonderful job with the software and giving us the ability to re-tune an otherwise stock ecu.

My first experience with Nistune was not so great. I bought the board and had it installed through a local tuner. It came with tuning and dyno time.

Mods were:
Rb20DET
460CC injectors
z32 MAF
Generic FMIC
Nismo FPR
Walbro 255LPH
RB25 Turbo

Made 240whp and 232 lb/ft @14psi

After driving the vehicle over the coarse of a year. I noticed several things in the tune that I was unhappy with, I have since purchased the software and have begun editing the previous tune. This has made the car leaps and bounds happier than it ever has been and I feel there is alot more to gain by playing with the fuel and timing maps more. I am still in a learning process but I love how intuitive and easy to use you guys have made the software.

I will definitely be recommending Nistune to anyone I know that has a Nissan and would like to benefit from more power and much better drivability.

The only suggestions I have are to make a forum section so that we can share our tunes and compare our results.

Again,
THANK YOU
PL

Unfortunately this is often the case. The time on the dyno is limited and it's impossible to get everything perfect. So the options are to either take the car back to the workshop that tuned it and get them to tweak the areas that are not quite right. Or to do as you have and get the software yourself so you can have a go. I also prefer this method as it allows the owner to become more familiar with their engine/tune. And if they have the skills can often result in a better tune, as they usually get to use the car every day so can pinpoint every little driveability issue.

This was one of the reasons behind making NIStune available as both Tuner and Single User versions. Matt and myself are both very "DIY" people so we like to make sure the other DIY'ers out there are catered for! :)
