The documentation needs some grooming as well, it can be confusing.

It's maybe best if you let someone modify the ECU who has the proper tools.
The whole soldering job is doable, but I strongly recommend some years of experience with regards to soldering PCBs
and handling semiconductors .

Hello :)
It does not require the Z32 AFM, but judging from your engine setup you have the Z32AFM installed already?
(the standard R33AFM is not good for high HP, since it maxes out)

Incorrect!
I did NOT want to have to purchase a Z32AFM.

My setup has the stock R33AFM and i plan to keep it and don't plan on upgrading at all.
I'm sure it's perfectly fine for my stock setup?

Hi ..

From what I saw on the picture you run a huge top mount turbo ..
If that's no longer the case you might as well use the R33 AFM (I guess :))

Oh Yeah haha! That was when i 1st picked her up. Shes on stock turbo/injectors/maf/ecu now. But still looks legit non the less :P

Alright, alright ... I hear you :)

If all is standard, the R33 AFM is fine ... (I think up to 310ish HP anyhow)
Shame about the Top-Mount though ;)

Yeah seriously. Only reason i went back to stock is because that setup i was running was raping my gas which = money.... I would fill up and a 5 minute drive to and from work would leave me with only half a tank of gas left....

Anyway,

I just picked myself up a NIStune Type 2 daughterboard. This one came off a members RB20 ECU, however i will be putting this into my z32 ECU. Just to confirm/clarify, the boards are all the same correct? I can put this board into my Z32 ECU but will just need to replace the rb20 bin files that are on their to the Rb25 correct?

No, it needs a Z32 base image programmed into it. R32 will not do it for you.

You'll have to send/take it to somebody in your area who has a base image programmer (NIStune dealers/larger tuners who use NIStune).

Where are you? If you're in Oz then just send it to me and I'll re-flash it for you.

Sorry, i probably worded it all funky.
So pretty much NIStune type 2 board came out of an RB20 ECU running an RB20. Guy took the NIStune chip out and put it up for sale ( I purchased it ). I'm pretty sure it still has the RB20 bin files loaded on it.

So my question was:
Are NIStune type 2 daughterboards the same?
I want to take this board i just purcashed and have it re-flashed with the z32 base image and some rb25 maps merged over so i can get my RB25 running off of it.

Yes, all the same. There were different versions early on, but even then the functionality is the same.
