Change colour to mark differences ..
Could you make the colour to highlight differences in the tables more outstanding?
Right now the marker is light blue, and I find it sometimes confusing because the highlight 'cursor' is also blue.
(though darker)
Why not make it RED? That would really stand out!
Also in this context:
If you compare two files and there is a difference but but by coincidence the cursor (the dark blue one) is on that exact field
where the difference is, you will not be able to spot what's different!!
That's because the highlight colour for difference seems to be not 'coming through'
Same goes for differences in maps (delta compare)
Why not just invert the affected cells?
See attached image ... there is just one difference, and I find it hard to spot.
(if you don't know where to look)

Re: Change colour to mark differences ..
Might have to go a different colour from red - red means a limit table has been hit (ie alert)
Light blue is comparison, and green is now active map
Orange is used for maps which are potentially empty (ie alert but lesser degree)
Probably change the select cursor to a different colour... um suggestions?

Re: Change colour to mark differences ..
Hi Matt,
UMMM ... I've never seen this RED limit-table highlight.
What is it for exactly?
As for the differences in 'map compare' anything high contrast would do.
(I would go for black background and white font)
This would be alright for the cursor as well.
All things considered why don't you make these user definable?
(Since you never can make this right for everyone)

Re: Change colour to mark differences ..
I could potentially make it user definable but dont want to over complicate the usability also
Red for AF limit mainly when exceeded

Re: Change colour to mark differences ..
Delta has been done
Want to keep the blue on the LHS for now
LHS map highlighting:
ORANGE => Blank map (Filled with FFs)
RED => Limit map has been exceeded (eg TP limit)
GREEN => Map selected
BLUE => Comparison map different
WHITE => Normal
System highlight colour (DARK BLUE but windows definable) is the cursor colour for all grid items

Re: Change colour to mark differences ..
Sounds good, looking forward to it!
Re: Change colour to mark differences ..
Green - map selected? Is that the current map in use by the ecu?
I get the fuel and ignition maps as expected but only get the fuel warm enrichment and the dwell time/duty and timing advance tables highlight all the time on my gtir. At times I'm struggling to work out which map is in use as my consult gauge readings on fuel and ignition are often different to any/all maps.

Re: Change colour to mark differences ..
Green = what used by ECU based on consult inputs
If the engine is idling then idle timing maps and main fuel maps are used
This should swap to regular 3D timing and fuel maps on accelerator
Dwell time/duty will be used all the time whislt engine tunning

Re: Change colour to mark differences ..
Hi Matt,
I have another idea to spot differences faster when comparing.
When the menu is folded I have no idea on where the differences is.
Could you make so the group titles (I mean [+]Maps, [+]Scalers, [+]Limit tables and so on) change colour or get some kind of a marking (Like a * after the title) when that group has a difference.
This would make me happy cause I like to fold the whole menu and just fold out the things I want to see :).

Also
When loading two images and they're the same could you inform about this in a popup or similar?
It's somewhat time consuming and error prone to compare each parameter.
So a go / no go information would be great.
(I actually use an external program to compare images but it would be nice to have it in Nistune)

Both changes have been done this morning for the next build
