Knock flags now woking??

Post by Torque »

I just had a look at a log I took yesterday (13R) .
Strangely enogh there are now flags actually working?
This can not be can it?? ;)

What are these flags???
They seem to indicate something, my engine is pulling timing as well ..

That your engine is accessing knock fuel and timing maps. It would have pulled timing and accessed those maps

Yes these are working (well definitely in the later test versions any logging issues with these have been resolved). They are used for map highlighting on playback also

That must be new in 13R then, before these flags were always set.

I did another log, this time in stream mode.

The flags were either on or off all the time.
I will investigate this further, or maybe it is dependant on how many flags are set when connecting ..

Stream mode will not change these flags. Its not possible to also read the memory addresses whilst a continuous one directional stream of registers is being read. So this will only work in tuner mode

Ohhh ... that explains a lot then.

Since I was always being told to use Stream Mode for logging.

Thanks .. one less mystery :)

Yes because it has a higher update rate, however it only logs the consult registers. Extra things like knock count (where available) and knock flags are separate and wont be read
