AUTO for tables?

Post by Torque »

I was trying to change a warm-up table while the engine was running.

I then figured that there is actually no 'AUTO' for tables ..
Is this due to technical limitation?

What do you mean 'auto'?

All tables modified do upload to the ECU any modifications (status bar shows the changes being uploaded)

Hmmm ... I did not see any update happening, that's why I though these values are not updated.

The manual says I have to check 'Auto' to make changes on the fly ..
By 'on the fly' I understand real-time, and that is how it works

So every byte value has this 'Auto-Checkbox' .. that's why I got confused, since tables are missing this flag .. and I was unsure if
the table was actually updated in the ECU.

Do you mean by status bar the lower frame of the screen?

Thanks ..

Only constants have an 'auto' checkbox (the lower table) so you have to hit 'apply' for those to change (ie during situations changing using keyboard from 127 to 139 for a moment in time the edit box would contain '12' and then '13' which would be undesireable)

All tables/maps are automatic with any changes made

Bottom status bar will say 'uploaded address xxxx value xx' or similar

to add to this, an 'auto unticker' would be helpful if the data field is selected for manually numeric data entry.

it more of a nice feature than a fix for lack of attention. its easy to stall a car if changing 'K' or 'inj latency' for instance.
