Nistune on Pocket PC

I've got a Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 5, anybody know if there is a software (freeware preferably) who works on this kind of PDA in conjunction with a Nistuned-ECU ?

I want consult more than tuning of course due to size of screen

So really your just after a gauge display for pda using nissan consult? This is possible have a look around some have done it.

There is ECU Talk which is freely available. However that only does standard Nissan consult

The USB Consult which comes with Type 1 boards which you have is a different protocol so wont work with it (Type 2-4 boards installed in ECU will still be fine)

I have an open action item to do a Pocket PC version but that could be a year away if it ever happened. You could contact the ECU talk author if he wanted to add it. I could supply him the protocol details

The USB drivers then emulates a (ie makes a fake/pretend) COM port so that it works with software designed for serial devices. USB consult interface should only be used on a laptop that doesn't have serial ports, and then only if you do not intend to use it with a Pocket PC - if this is the case, then buy a serial consult interface and a seperate usb/serial converter (FTDI chip preferable, otherwise just the cheapest on ebay).

You really don't can/want to develop a version who works on PocketPC with USB interface ?

NewKleers response is out of date.

PLMS USB cables all use the FTDI chipset. The new Blazt ones ive been informed have been using them since Feb.

But that is still only 2% with USB support for the above

Our NIStune USB consult uses FTDI245 which is not a serial chip. It requires new coding to be added by NewKleer

I know I'm dragging up a very old thread here but I'm wondering the same thing. Wondering if I can run ECU Talk or something similar on a device with Windows CE 5.0 & only USB interface???

I cant see the point in a pocket PC for the following reasons..

1. Gauges are too small to see.
2. Text is too small to see less than 7" and you are starting to kid yourself.
3. If you just want a display get a two line one off ecu talk.
4. If you are after that too fast and furious look, get over it

5. Blitz make an interface for the consult hooks up with your in car TV to display the gauges on your in car tv..

and no crappy windows platforms !! would make for the cleanest installation it is always in the car and connected.. however you cant tune with it but lets face when you tune you want a large screen so you can have multi windows open for traces etc..

Otherwise get an EEe PC by asus they work with nistune as the tuner who did my car tuned it with one.. however I am not really a fan of them but .. these can be touchscreen and also support USB.. and arent as gay as PDA's
