wrong ecu selected?

Post by brett_32i »

does it matter what ecu nistune detects?
my ecu is a non turbo rb30, and i was using the cr31 adr.
when conencted, it said they didnt match and the actual ecu was vlt??
so i went with it and it works, but should i be worried and somehow override it?

Nistune is not detecting the ECU in your example.

It is detecting the Nistune board "base image" that it was preprogrammed with,
it compares it to the address file which you loaded first. (which was the wrong one, the CR31 file)

so, no, it doesn't matter that you actually have an NA 3EA/3EM etc, it all about what Nistune board base image is in the ECU.

use the VLT address file as the latency will be wrong if you use the CR31 address file.

Nistune looks at the ECU ID and sees if its a R31, VLT etc. The base image is then checked against the address file

Your ECU has a VLT base image loaded in it (we do this for most RB30ET/E+T) so use that address file as it is suggesting
