Battery readings

Post by fikemoo »

Hello there, had the nistune for a while to run my rb25det in my s13 am so happy with it, the control you have :) but one thing we have noticed is that if you put the multimeter direct on to the battery it reads over 14v which is good but in the nistune software the battery charge is jumping between low 12 to mid 13's its all over the place, any ideas

Cheers Mike

If you measure the meter on the ECU terminals you will find it reads the same as what consult shows

So there must be a fluctuation either due to grounding (from battery to engine block, and then ECCS loom from the plenum to ECU) or power issue (via vehicle hardness)

same thing is happening on OEM harness if You have extra el. power consumption, bigger pump, various electronic devices, bigger el. fans etc. OEM alt on most Nissan cars is 80A which is small for this extra load, on S14 we are putting Quest 130A and problem is then gone
