Will Nistune allow me to control my fans??

If it isnt a problem or a suggestion it probably goes here.

I do have time for coding now. Currently updating the programmer software, then bug fixes, then enhancement requests

As requested Fan Control autopatcher updates have been completed after spending a huge amount of time updating the auto patcher code so I could cover a greater range of vehicles.

This probably can apply to future models like P11 and ER34 from the top of my head

S14 SR20DET 74F00 (JDM)
S14 SR20DET 75F00 (EDM)
S14A SR20DET 80F00 (JDM)
S14A SR20DET 83F00 (ADM)
S15 SR20DET 91F00 (JDM)
S15 SR20DET 93F00 (JDM)

To use this you must reprogram the Nistune board using a base image programmer. It will add modified ECU code which provides 8 new parameters

Fan control default settings

#1A = 90
#1B = 95
#2A = 100
#2B = 105
#3A = 90
#3B = 95
#4A = 100
#4B = 105

1A/1B and 3A/3B control the high pressure fan on/off temperatures
2A/2B and 4A/4B control the low pressure fan on/off temperatures

There is a hysteresis of about 2 degrees

I find it easiest using the constant list window. Enter the values and press the button to apply the changes

Please note I've tested a subset of these files (S14, S15 ADM/EDM) on the bench. Other code bases are the same. I've checked against the cool hi/low display in consult

Put the address files in the Documents\Nistune\Address\misc folder

Browse for the address file you need to use and the parameters will then be available

I saw that but really didnt understand it?? And what wire from the ecu controls the fan? And is it like a ground trigger wire meaning it will trigger a relay that I have to wire in or what.....?

Thanks

I'm not sure on the wiring

Normally outputs from Nissan ECUs are pulled to ground (so probably 12V going into fan from ECCS relay and GND pull down from ECU)

You want to change the temperatures with the parameters Fan Temp on and Fan Temp on (AC) in the constants lists if you want to adjust. Other parameters are more specific control like speed activation etc

Hi Matt any chance for fan control on the 64Y00 and 54C00 files?

So pretty much c/u with an arrow above it powers the fan right?? Then of coarse the the ground from the fan can go to the chassis...

That page is for RB25 and has no diagrams of fan control on it

Had a feeling this might happen. Add a new feature for a few ECUs and then people want the rest of them!

okay those ones had the same routines which is good, just had to modify the address location and where I put the code since these are 32KB ECUs whilst the S14/S15 are 64KB

I've attached untested ENT and ADR files for these ones. Should work. I'll test it later when I get a chance

If you are using a Z32 ECU in a R33 RB25, the fan control variables can be ignored and won't do anything, as on the R33 the aux. fan is controlled by a thermo switch in the radiator and not by the ECU.

If you want to be able to have it on sooner or control it, you'd best get a (manual/electronic) fan controller and bypass the thermo-switch or do some serious rewiring and have the ECU take control over it

Hi matt, any chance to get that working on type 1 boards (ca18det) ? My thermostatic switch does not work correctly anymore and its holder is leaking, i would really like to bin the whole thing if i can control fan with ECU :D

Does it have an ECU fan control output? I dont think the earlier ECUs did this
