If it isnt a problem or a suggestion it probably goes here.

Stupid question maybe?

Post by groundscraper »

I´ve ordered a nistune type 3 board for my N14 gti. I´m currently running a chipped pulsar gti-r ECU, the car is turbocharged.

Don´t mock me, i´m new to this, but is there any way of downloading the maps from the chipped ecu to the nistune, once i install it?

I want to start where i left, the tune is almost spot on, except for timing on boost...

Thx in advance

Yes you can download the maps via consult (assuming the chipped file isnt locked) and then upload to the Nistune board

Most likely the Nistune board has feature pack, so you will need to
1. Connect to nistune board, download maps
2. File > Import saved file from chipped board
3. Upload to Nistune board and check

Oh awesome... great news... i like how the car runs... just don´t like the knock high up in the RPM.

Don´t know if it´s locked or not... how to check? This is what i have inside the ECU:

I found 0 on the interwebs, i know the ecu came from a japanese gti-r imported to UK... anyone know something about "big value" Special engine builders?

There are lots of small japanese outfits which have their own names. You will just have to try it once you have your consult cable and licence to do the download

Operations > consult download ROM image

Install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 redistributable
http://www.nistune.com/support-downloads.php

How is the Type 3 board faulty? What issues are you seeing with it?

He could not program board, so I'm sent him a replacement today (should be 3-5 business days to arrive). Will check out the boards when we get them back (suspect it may be voltage regulator)
