Setting up the launch control

Post by ozans »

I've updated my Nistune board to the FP1 firmware (39F0F).

I want to use the launch control but I'm a little bit confused.

I tested out the speed controlled mode, the fuel cut limiter works just fine.
What confuses me is the ignition retard.

Is the ignition retard value a raw value or a filtered one? (It goes from 0-255)

Can anyone suggest a safe starting point for setting up the LC? I'll be aiming for building up 0.5 bars of boost initialy.

The feature pack documentation suggests that it's not a modifier to the original timing, instead it's an absolute value that will be used during the LC.
Slowly increasing it till I can stop the revs from rising doesn't seem to be an option. It would be great if there will be an addition to the tuning guide that covers setting up the LC.

Ignition retard is actually a set ignition value. So if you set it to 5 deg BDTC it will change timing to this value. So like what the manual says - its an absolute value

Launch control documentation is in the 'Feature pack 1 documentation'
http://nistune.com/docs/Nistune%20Featu ... k%20V1.pdf

However I dont have a specific list of settings for how its used on each vehicle setup
