ROM Images S15 SR20DET

Post by FreakensNL »

Hi there,

Does anybody have a example of a decent/basic tune for a pretty stock S15 SR20DET?
I'm new to Nistune and would like to get an idea where to go with the timing, fuel, etc.

My mods:
-Stock turbo (T28BB)
-3" Turbo back
-Pod filter
-FMIC
-EBC
-Splitfire coil packs
-AEM fuel pump
-Iridium 7 plugs
-98 octane gasoline

So a tune for running 15psi and just maxing out injectors and AFM would be terrific !

Aaaah sweet, sweet corn ! :P

To bad we don't have that here in the big NL...
your maps have way more timing than my stock maps and much less fuel.. would except a little less difference (looks like 20% diff)

He Matt,
Everything is looking good so far, your fuel & ignition maps are looking really nice and consistent !
(can't say that from the stock Nissan tune, but I guess they had their reasons for it)

Do you think i can put your ignition map in my ecu, check for knock and go from there? maybe put - 2 a 3 deg less in there as it has +10deg compared to stock in some places
(our climate is cold (-10 to +20deg Celsius) and moist so good for preventing knock)

I already go outside the stock map with 16psi so am forced to lower the K value and up the TIM a bit..

I see your tune is getting downloaded a lot
Got any dyno-graph of that tune for your fan base?!

Not sure where the dyno graphs are. See if its in the 'test result' section but about 200rwkw

Yeah you could drop about 3 degree and just monitor knock and work from there

He Matt (or Pete),

Could you have a quick look at my current tune?
Maxing out the 480cc's and stock AFM at 16-18 psi
AFR: 11.0-11.5

Haven't found a good spot for mounting my old school det-cans, any tips for on the SR20?

I think this should be pretty safe on a stock s15, any(!!) input is appreciated ! :D

Want to get it in range before renting a Dyno due to insane rates here..
@ the dyno, how do you go about the timing, keep adding in one section and building the map from there??

@Matt do you remember how much boost you where running?

Running about 15-16psi from memory. Cannot find dyno sheets at the moment

Pete has not posted on here since Feb 2015, so you are best emailing him directly for tuning advise with SR20s

With timing best to read up on tuning but in short, normally once you hit peak torque on the dyno ( or no further power after increasing timing futher) then you have hit the limit of increasing timing and after this you may then hit detonation. This part is best done on a dyno with knock monitoring headphones

Tune seems okay, starting to enter 10:1 AFR up the top end so bit rich

Ok, thanks for looking at my tune! Do you have Pete's email for me? can 't seem to find it any where
It pulls really lineair and is damn quick

I have build these det-cans;
http://www.enginebasics.com/EFI%20Tunin ... 0Cans.html
just can't find a good spot to mount it, will try and email Pete

I did read a lot about timing, I know about MBT and how you want to be a couple of degrees away from this point. But on the dyno do you just add timing on the entire map and when you notice that there isn't more torque added you build the map from there or do you search for each knock point at each load and rpm??
most tuners take an hour so they just do a WOT pull and build it from there?!
