Issues with tuning of R32GTR ecu

Post by Tommey »

Setup:
R32GTR ECU in an R34GTR.
Bosch 1000cc Injector (ballast removed).
Upgraded turbo`s
Stock MAF`s

I need some help setting this software up, scaling loads ect before going on the dyno.
The car has been at a tuning Company wich claims to know Nistune but the car is useless after they "tuned" it.
Works much better on a stock tune With just changed injectors and retarded timing.

How do you set up this software?
i have read the documentation but it does not make sense to me and i could use some help.

Attached is a short log of a run after it had been "tuned" and the map.

Hi Tommey,

If you cant understand the docs then its probably better to ask other owners in your area who they recommend getting a tune from, and taking your car there. If you make a mistake with the tune, and then drive the car hard, you can destroy the motor.

Maybe take a backup of the current tune and save it to your PC, then load up the base map, update the injector settings again, and apply that (since you said this works better than the shop tune), At least you're no worse off then.

If you have more specific questions then try asking them. Your question of "how do you setup the software" is probably too general to get much of a response.

There is no ignition timing, injection time (ms) or AFRs in that log. So cannot really tell anything from it

Tune itself is interesting since only went from TIM=512 to TIM=450. Which injectors in the tune file you posted? 1000CC would expect at least TIM 60% less the current value (444CC/1000CC)

Map scalings were extended for fuel and timing

Fuel map is dropped a fair bit (because tuned for 1000CC but also because it appears that TIM was not adjusted properly to begin with) and there are some lumps in the map. What did the AFR sheet look like from the dyno?

I could suggest putting the map to start from 0 (filtered values) and then adjust TIM until AFRs 14.7:1 on cruise and then readjust fuel map to get AFRs back on track again

1000CC Bosch injectors, Stock MAF`s.
While driving we max out the load scale really early so scaling/ setup is wrong i believe.

So, maybe you could help me with a base map?
So i will just need to adjust TIM and fuel/ignition.

The Stock MAF`s cant be maxed out this early?
0.9 bar boost on gt2860`s.

I appreciate any and all help.

Start again with the factory tune file

1. Resize injectors from 444 to 1000CC (untick 'crank enrich')
2. Manually adjust crank enrich table so it starts
3. Adjust latency for those injectors, about 1150 good start point
4. Flatten out drop of fuel map to around 35 (Filtered values) as a start point
5. If you max out the load scale, you need to drop the load multiplier (K constant) until it doesn't hit the end. Any amount you drop this by you will need to increase TIM to compensate
6. Then drive the vehicle in cruise and adjust TIM until 14.7:1 AFR (with 0% trims)

Thank you Matt!
This is what I was looking for.
How will I discover when the AFM's are maxed out in the future?
