R32 RB26DETT 05U6F Knock

Post by Ross »

This ECU is capable of knock recording and control, correct? While connected to the ecu, the knock warning panel will not display. It will display when viewing logs while disconnected, but the knock limits window grayed out (see attached). Also, "Mark Knocking" is grayed out on the maps. I am on the latest update, but have had this issue on every version of Nistune that I have used with this ECU.

Thanks for your help, and Happy New Year!

Kind regards,

Ross

I believe I just found my answer on page 64 of the Users Manual V1.9. It states that knock detection counting firmware is in progress for the BNR32 RB26; any idea on a time frame?

Kind regards,

Ross

I stopped looking at knock reporting in the factory ECU. It is best to use proper knock headphones. The ECU uses a narrowband filter, which is then used to record a count. It does not always pickup all knock, so cannot be used alone for detection purposes

Some ECUs do it differently than others, and R32 and earlier ECUs were easier to find the counter.

Thanks Matt. I always use my knock headphones, but love the ECU functionality as a back-up if possible :D
