300ZX Z32 TPS Idle stays lit & VTC doesn't lit :(

Post by Kamal »

Hi,
Having an issue with a 91 Nissan 300ZX AT as described in the Subject, bought a brand new wiring loom from the Nissan dealer, and a brand new TPS assembly and the problem persists;
ROM is 41P01, and another problem I'm having is that the engine stalls when I rev it above 3-4k in neutral and on D when I lift off the throttle...
AFR's seem to be pretty good and stable

Any suggestions ?
Thank You
Matt

Logs? Does start switch work when you crank? Nissan ECUs register TPS idle position when you crank...

Hi Matt,
Flashed a new ROM into the Type 2 Nistune Board using NT Prog and now I'm using 41P1F with FP V1 instead of 41P01, and the TPS Idle switch issue is resolved;
Now the red indicator goes off when i open the throttle;
But I have 2 questions,
1st is "Start Switch" does not illuminate, although TPS reads 0.46,
When engine does't run and Ignition is ON, if i press the throttle lightly, I hear a buzzing sound, what is it ?
2nd, I didn't change the injectors or anything at all, the engine flooded with fuel on startup with very rich AFR and black smoke..
I didn't change the "TOTAL INJECTION MULTIPLIER" 1023 value,
What should I put it ? KConst is set to 387 previously and I noticed fuel stays the same even though i reduced it to 40

Thank You
Matt

1. Start switch should illuminate when cranking. Check your wiring to the ECU with a multimeter

I'm not sure what your buzzing sound is

2. Default TIM = 512 (not 1023) which would explain why it is flooding
