NGK AFX Wideband Gauge input to Laptop for Nistune data logging

Post by spec1sef »

Hi Matt,

Is it possible to use NGK AFX gauge with Nistune for data logging? It has two wires with 0-5v output but I am not sure how I would hook it up to laptop USB port and if there is a such cable to connect it?

"Analog Compatible

The NGK AFX has a 0 ~ 5V, linear analog output for AFR that can be used as an input to an engine controller, data acquisition system, or analog gauge with 0 to 5 volt input."

You will need to purchase a DLP AD converter, and then the 0-5V can go into that (which plugs via USB into your laptop)

Thanks this worked using the DLP A/D converter but after putting values into lookup table my readings are off by something like 0.20

If Wideband gauge shows 14.00, Nistune is showing 13.8

There might be a voltage drop between the wideband voltage output and the DLP (at a guess)

Double check the grounding. Otherwise adjust for the 0.2 AFR drop by lowering the top/lower AFRs to match the guage in the lookup table

It may only take 0.05V to make a difference with the voltage drop
