speedo signal

Post by Wayl94 »

hello while im connected to nistune im noticing that the speed is staying at 0 , im guessing this is why my max tp/rpm is getting a limit on it, im going to guess that its not showing singal from the speedometer ecu wire, just wondering im goin to check continuity on the wire tomorrow and if anyone knows if the wire that goes into the ecu is going to bed the same colour as the one going into the speedometer? if the wire checks out good im assuming that something in the speoodmeter itself is broken, if it is broken is can i splice a wire off the speedometer and run it to the ecu?

You will need the factory service manual for your vehicle to find wire colours, pin locations etc.

There will be a hall effect signal from the transmisison sensor to the speedo unit, and if that is working then it will send a pulsewidth over the speed input wire to the ECU. Only a scope will be useful for looking at these lines

Yeah speed cut/recover and some other limit parameters used the speed input. The maxiumum TP doesn't use speed input
