board operation and broken pin

Post by midian »

Hi, Matt,
got this board with ECU, but car wasn't starting, there were no connection to a laptop yet, after removed board and found broken pin(see attachments).
after installation in my own board, Laptop tryed to connect, but messaged - "wrong MAF" etc, "reinstall board" or smth like that.
also, board marked as 36f00, but was installed into z31 eccs, could be this also be reason (e.g. must be pre-reprogrammed - I have NT base image progremmer, and even reprogrammed my own bord, after that O2 became operational again, we discussed this).
Regards, Paul

All base images must match the ECU they are installed in

So this board must be reflashed using a base image programmer to the part (or Feature pack firmware equivalent) matching the ECU (for most Z31 ECUs 26P0H will be the part # to program in from the ROM pack)

With the broken pin, Samtec are what we use

After a quick google. Something similar to this (2.54" pitch with round throughole)
https://sg.element14.com/samtec/bbl-108 ... dp/1667436

What we use: : TS-114-T-AA

Digikey have them
https://www.digikey.com.au/products/en? ... S-114-T-AA

Only replace the broken pin/pins not the whole row

e.g. should operate even with broken pin?
anyway, flashed with coerrect image and soldered (just for testing - car starts - e.g. board working.
soldering whole line will bi difficult anyway, so lpanned do same way - replace only pin/
as for source of pin from line - ordered same to TS-114-T-AA from Aliexpress.

Sorry about the delay with reply. I've upgraded the forums but getting some errors (500 server error) so have to upgrade PHP and everything else

Good you got it working. Should only operate with all pins connected, unless the pad manages to touch the socket in your case
