serial to usb converter

Post by r31_gav »

will using a serial to usb adapter work for the type 1 boards? my laptop throws the usb port quite often, it says theres a power surge to the port even when theres nothing in it.
i might try a PCMICA usb hub instead if that wont work

USB port will say that normally if there is a short (VCC to GND) and detects over current

I've only done it once... when I shorted a Type 1 connector during testing. But it shouldn't be doing that all the time

Are there any problems with your Type 1 USB connector at all? Does it have any connection problems during operation?
