CA18DET Ignition Dwell Duty Table

Post by Noz »

Hi Matt,

Just wondering how to add the Ignition Dwell Duty table to my S13 CA18DET address file. It's found at B890->B8AF (should be 3890->38AF)

Also the Dwell Voltage Correction Coefficient, found at BF00->B8AF (should be 3F00->38AF)

Also, there appears to be a slight error in the Idle Gear Timing map: The table of values has a max. RPM of 6200, the corresponding graph has x values half of what they should be (max 3100 RPM). Adjusting the value in the table for 5000 RPM changes the graph value at 2500 RPM for example.

Cheers.

Those address locations are taken from a TunerPro address file. It appears to be reporting 3's as B's

As quoted in a Nico article:
the ca18det dwell map is located at H3890 and is 32bits long

thanks I've changed the max graph value to 6400 now for the next version

Add the following to your address file using a text editor and you should be set

DWELL_DUTY,&H3890,32,1,32,1,Coil duty
DWELL_TIME,&H3F00,16,1,16,1,Coil time

Cheers Matt, made a mistake in the original post, Dwell Time is 3F00 -> 3F0F.

No probs. Change the length from 16 down to 8 in this file for both parameters

I've used

DWELL_DUTY,&H3890,32,1,32,1,Coil duty
DWELL_TIME,&H3F00,16,1,16,1,Coil time

Dwell Duty shows, but no Dwell Time. Been too busy to investigate.

how long to charge the coil for

one table is dependent on battery voltage for charge time and the other is against the amount of RPMs

higher RPMs will have a different charge time to lower RPMs
