If it isnt a problem or a suggestion it probably goes here.

Q45 VH45 ECUs and Moates hardware issues

Post by Matt »

FYI if you ever need to tune a Q45 VH45 ECU and have problems with the Moates Ostrich 2.0 emulator please read the following thead

http://www.moates.net/phpforum/viewtopic.php?t=1166

I've been trying to get one working this week and it works fine with EPROMs, and Pocket Romulator I but not the Ostrich 2.0 (goes to limp)

Craig is sending through a booster board to try out and see if we get it working with that. Judging from responses on the the thread it should work with this. Impedances of this ECU must be different from most other Nissans which normally dont have a problem with this emulator

The pocket romulator I seems to be no good with write behinds on this particular ECU either. I've noticed issues with the romulator doing write behinds espceially when doing a mass update on cells, it just doesnt seem to handle it properly

Had the same issue with the VG30DETT. Craig recommended the booster and the problems went away.

Strange. I've never had any problems with any ECUs including Z32 until this ECU

Given they are similar hardware I am not suprised through. Must be different impedance dropping resistors between the processor and socket perhaps affecting things
