timing tables

Post by iceblade »

i was looking at the idle /decel timing table and on the s13 the base timing is set with i timing light to 15 degrees, but if you look at the idle table in nistune it says 31

where as i looked at a mates s14a and his says 15 in that table (set to 15 degrees with a timing light too by the way)

just wondering why the s13 one is different and if the numbers in the timing maps therefore indicate double how many degrees timing you are running.....

Confused!!!

any info appreciated
cheers guys
Joe

sorry just saw this thread again. its sometimes easier to bug me with an email ... because i forget some of these threads after i read them and need to look at them later

okay you need to

File-Configuration-Filtered Table View

This will then subtract IDLE_TIMING_MAP_OFFSET (16) specified in the address file from the displayed values in the table

what you are viewing currently is the 'raw' values with filtering turned off

Some ECUs like CA18 are just strange and have these offsets applied to the tables and make them display differently.

When the table is filtered, you can only +/- the values. When it is 'raw' then you can edit the ECU value directly by entering numbers

btw in your case the 31 will turn into 15 ... matching your dizzy timing value
