aem uego serial wiring question

I read on the instruction manual from AEM and saw that in order to use the blue wire and use it as data logging you connect it to the red wire on the serial and green for ground. Anyone confirm that these wires are correct if say, using just an average RS232 DB-9 serial cable?

On a RS232 connector

PIN 2 = RX (red)
PIN 5 = GND (green)
