z31 stock afm and 350rwhp?

Post by Timbo_021 »

Howdy
Ive seen some people on z31performance (Flawlez i thinks his name :p) that are running the stock maf and have over 350rwhp on the stock maf.Just wondering how?
Mine is almost maxing out at 3000rpm,its at 5 volts already! It maxes out at 6.829 volts at 4462 rpm.Its a bit puzzling, only running 14 psi.Changing the load scales wont help will it?

Thanks

technically, thats no problem...only thing is that you lost resolution between max. AFM flow and your current max. flow, so you cannot map fuel or ignition between these points. But regardless of AFM resolution, if you are concerning only to maximum tune, just set last right column of maps that way that AFR and timing will be correct. TP value will be still used calculated from max. AFM reading, but thats not so important if you tune it really only for maximum flow...
In this way will be AFM signal used just to reach you final TP point, then its just to you to adapt map values to REAL air flow...If AFM have mechanically large enough diameter to do not choke airflow, you can use it after maximum flow output....but you will lost resolution everywhere between AFM maximum output (or flow) and your real flow, as mentioned aboove.
