does anyone know how easy enough is it to make up one of these leads myself?
seems like a simple 3 wire jobby tx rx and ground? but didnt wanna blow up my laptop

looks like 3.5mm connector to TX/RX/GND

but you need the terminator on the other end. I found without it plugged in I got no serial comms (not sure why)

yeah, it's the smaller version , the 2.5mm stereo, pin 3 on tip, pin 2 on the collar and gnd to the case or largest part.

you need to chop the excess rubber securing boot from the connections on Lc-1 to plug in your new cable.
