correct. as i've mentioned before.
i have a CDI mounted in very close proximity to the ecu. disconnecting the cdi helps, but then only stays connected for maybe a second or two.

see how you go with that. the fact that consult does not stay connected at all during running indicates electrical issues, which would also be present with a stock ECU
CDI would need to be moved away from the ECU because it generates high amounts of electrical mangetic interference (EMI) on discharge. If you were to put a scope on the lines near that thing you would see why a consult connection with massive spikes on it from nearby devices would corrupt its data and drop the connection
What about running 'stream mode' that shouldnt drop unless the ECU starts resetting itself. Tuner mode does checking and will drop if it cant recover
