CA18DET ECU mixup!!!

Post by DDS »

So I'm troubleshooting a car that someone else had installed Nistune on.

Ecu part number sticker says 23710-36F05, which is MEC-D016. The side of the ecu (housing) also says MEC-D016.

The reason I was concerned was because a 39F00 image was on the board and that didnt match the sticker. Upon opening the ECU, i can see on the board "MEC-D001~D010" Pretty sure that the board has been swapped into the housing.

Anyways, just want to know how to identify this ECU board (without checking the stock chip) There are quite a few differences between the different versions, and Im pretty sure that's the driveability issues hes having. The car ran perfect before the Nistune install, and not so great now.

the 36F05 is a JDM CA18DET whilst the 39F00 is a EDM (european) CA18DET there may be minor differences between these ecus which is why i normally match the part number what the customer provides. if you have a base image programmer there put in the 36F05 and see how that goes
