I went to download and burn the bin to a EPROM today....and it didnt work
I clicked, Sync PC, and it updated the PC with what we had programmed in Nistune.
then went file Save as....and saved the rom image.
but when I looked at the file it saved, it was a 32k file.....not the usual 16k file of a normal CA18.
I thought maybe it was cause of the consult program, so wrote it to a 256k chip anyway......and it didnt work.
tried a different ECU, and same thing, so my guess is the Rom image is not working?

When you 'sync' you get only the maps/tables/constants from the ECU. You wont get the whole working ROM image
What you need to do is get the ROM image you need to burn from this website, matching your ECU, and then load this into NIStune
Then sync the maps over the top of the ROM image. Save that file onto disk
Now as you noticed, Rev3 boards use a 32K ROM image. You can burn the bottom half to ROM or load with the 16K address file and save it from that
In the future, I will make the Type 1 boards automaticly save 16K ROM images for 32K boards

not really because its more geared for the boards
regardless the base ROMs (bin files) are in the ROM image pack and if you sync your maps into the matching ROM file for your vehicle, you can save this to disk
once you have done that the BIN file can be opened by your EPROM choice of software/hardware and programmed to the chip
