In case you may need a new cable this is the one I now use and it works good haven't had any issues with it btw just fyi

got the errors again, grounds are good. Also noticed that the rev limiter isn't working. I have it set to 8000 and watched the tach race past 8000 rpm.

If you set the launch RPM limit and normal rev limit?
Also do you have a speed input? Standard RPM limits do not apply if the speed input does not work. Log file and tune file would be helpful

The spedo isn't working but I'm not getting a code for speed sensor. I'm not sure if its a cluster problem been that its a nx1600 digital cluster.

The cluster converts the hall effect signal to pulses for the ECU. If that doesn't work you will not have a speed sensor signal. Not all ECUs will raise a speed code, so don't expect a DTC
Because of the suspected lack of speed signal, this is why you may not have a limit. It should be using the safety limit still I would have thought

The safety rev limit was set at 8000 too. Will look into the speedo problem tomorrow.

This is since I've found a bug with the VCT code recently where the TP MSB/LSB bytes need to be reversed in the FP firmware. This causes VCT to flicker and stay on at idle. Increasing TP enable to 255 then only makes the ECU use the RPM for VCT on/off and ignores TP
I've generated new code and re-tested the whole lot on one of the B13 SR20DE ECUs. I'm running through the others this week and will release a feature pack update
Bumping this old thread. Matt I'm still having issues with the VVL kicking on at idle. I can hear the solenoids clicking away and sometimes stays on. Where do I find the TP enable to set to 255. Not sure I did it right the 1st time.

confirmed it is set to 255 for the TP and speddo works. At idle you can hear it clicking the solenoids on and off. It's not long enough for the VVL to kick in so far just annoying.

How old is the firmware update on that board?
30 July 2015 there was a fix for B13 SR20DE FP1:
Update VCT to MSB (was using LSB)
This caused the ECU to intermittently enable/disable VCT. Increasing VCT MSB (256) reduces reoccourance a little. Can you take a log file with the Digital Ctrl1,2 and RPM, TP recorded (stream mode) and increase/decrease load to make the VCT go on/off?
Might need to reflash the board to later firmware update
